Step aside old BOGO and meet the new BOGO

Definitions of some English words can change quite rapidly these days. In the recent past the meaning of words was often very fixed. Today the meaning can change in the blink of an eye. With faster and newer ways to exchange ideas such as Twitter and with wider and more culturally, socially and educationally dissimilar groups connecting together – words are put back on the anvil of evolution and changed into something new and more reflective of current life.

There’s a significant global movement happening where consumers are asking business to take care of the things they care about such as the less fortunate in society and the environment. The request is mainly tacit and despite it being an ironic request it by far indicates still that we are in a time of vast change. Consumers these days want their cake and eat it. They not only want cheap products, they also want the environment to be preserved and they want workers to be well looked after.

There may not seem an answer to this complex puzzle and yet one actually exists. It exists in the reforging of a simple single word – GET. Today there is a new movement of people wanting to get but give at the same time and they are reforging its meaning into the word GIVE.

Every day I receive a notice from Google Alerts for two words – B1G1 and BOGO. It tells me all the new places that these words are being used on the Internet. I can now see that the new meaning of these words is coming alive ‘poco a poco’ [Italian: poco, little + a, by + poco, little].

The B1G1 and BOGO acronyms both stand for Buy One GET One free. You buy one and you get given an extra one for free.

If you look on Wikipedia you will find these definitions for BOGO (there isn’t a definition yet for B1G1 – there will be soon when I write one!):

* An acronym in the retail industry that stands for Buy One Get One. For example, you could say “Buy 1 DVD, Get 1 FREE!

* An acronym in slang British that stands for Britons Of Greek Origin or Greek Britons.

* Bogo, Cebu, a city in central Philippines.

* Norway, a village in Norway.

* Norway, a village in Norway.

* The mascot of the ITESM CEM.

* BogoMips, an unscientific measurement of CPU speed

* Bogosort, an ineffective sorting algorithm

BOGO light

There is a business in the USA called SunLight Solar founded by Mark Bent. He has created a special torch that not only is an amazing and sturdy solar-powered light; his company also gives a free torch to those in need in developing nations for each one bought. If you look on their website you will learn about their “BOGOlight”.

“The BoGo – our Buy one/Give one – program has successfully provided lights to many, many thousands of people in the developing world, changing lives because of your purchase and participation.” – BOGOlight.com

Mark Bent turned the acronym upside down when he started to use the word as part of his product name. For him now and the thousands who buy his lights, BOGO now means Buy One GIVE One. Each person gets to give a light every time they buy one for themselves. So now with each sale, people who do not have the luxury of electricity can harness the power of the sun to support their lives.

There are many other well known and many less well know businesses doing Buy One Give One giving, or transaction-based giving as its becoming known. Some of the famous companies are OLPC – One-Laptop-Per-Child and TOM’S Shoes. Some of the less well-known ones (in the US at least) are based in Oceania and the UK – Earthstar Publishing, Maple Muesli, Blinds Couture, Figure 8 Body Chains, Sunsplash Homes, Honestly Women magazine and Thavibu Gallery based in Thailand are just a small handful of these special businesses that are leading the Buy One Give One movement.

Many Buy One Give One businesses are coming together under the single brand banner of Buy1GIVE1; a Singaporean based social enterprise which is becoming the home of transaction based giving. Any business can now choose to be part of Buy One Give One giving with ease. It’s like a CSR ‘plug-in’ to allow a business to start giving from each and every sale today – starting from just one cent. It is now not even a matter of giving an equivalent product to someone else. Instead it is about giving to a charity project that is in resonance with a company’s business activity. For example a magazine publisher cannot support the planting of a tree every time they sell a subscription, a restaurant can feed a child for each meal sold, a TV store can gift a cataract blind person with the gift of sight (Get Vision-Give Vision), and a builder or property developer can build a budget home for those in need who have lost their homes in a disaster (Buy1BUILD1) – the list is only limited by imagination.

There is something very special happening these days as more and more people are switching to giving and what are known as ‘citizen brands’ as a part of their everyday experience. In the 2008 Goodpurpose study of global consumer attitudes it reveals that almost 68% of consumers would choose to remain loyal to a brand during an economic downturn if it supports a good cause. And 71% say that when they think about the economic downturn, they have either given the same or more time and money to good causes. This study also highlighted some other key points as well such as:

* 52% of consumers globally are more likely to recommend a brand to others when it supports a good charity cause over one that doesn’t.

* 52% of consumers globally are more likely to tell others of a brand when it supports a good charity cause over one that doesn’t.

* Consumers are now voicing a clear desire for marketers to associate their brands to social causes. 42% say that if two products or services were of a similar quality and price, commitment to a cause outranks factors like innovation, design and brand loyalty when selecting one brand over another.

Turning Getting into Giving

In the minds of consumers, Buy One GIVE One is expected to replace Buy One GET One as the new global giving movement led by Buy1GIVE1 spreads. Certainly with the massive sales results and consumer demand shown for companies like BOGOlights, One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) and TOMS Shoes, this tide will continue to spread and grow.

I did a Google search on the 25 topmost key words connected with the keyword BOGO as an experiment to see what would show up. The results were interesting so I have displayed them below. You may notice that right now the word Give doesn’t show up. It will be interested to do this test again in twelve months time to see what changes. Consumers are now driving change and yes they want to receive free gifts (traditional B1G1/BOGO) but equally they also want to give to others or see others being given to.

Keyword results:

Free, photography, blogging, discount, networking, African, boots, groups, music, dallas, togo themes, wallpapers, buy, applications, skins, values, coupon, gift, sharing, shopping, pics, join, prose

Transactional or transaction based giving

Buy One Give One giving is transactional – every time you buy something, you give something. In the case of SunNight Solar, TOMS Shoes and OLPC they happen to give physical products of the same nature for everyone sold. However, in most cases, Buy1GIVE1 associated businesses give a charitable contribution from each sale. Giving can start from just a one-cent contribution per sales transaction and go up to thousands of dollars in the case of Buy1BUILD1. At 1cent any business in the world can afford to give from each sale especially when they also know 100% of the contribution goes to the cause.

The amount of money that is contributed isn’t the focus with Buy1GIVE1 transaction based giving. The focus instead is on the story and sharing the simple joy of giving. After all, if you think that 1c isn’t a lot to give and would not make much of a difference think again.

Coffee consumption has spread globally and Brazil is by far the largest coffee producer in the world producing on average 28% of all coffee grown. In 2006 Brazil grew enough coffee to brew 216,400,000,000 (216 billion 400 million) espresso coffees! If we were to make this calculation across global production amounts then we get an amazing number for the daily global consumption of around 2,117,416,830 (2 billion 117 million) cups of coffee – wow! The figures are not easy to find but if we guessed that around 40% of the world’s coffee is purchased in coffee shops then we would find that 846 million 966,732 cups are sold commercially each day globally – almost 900 million. This would equate to about’5 million cups in the US alone seeing they purchase around 21% of the world’s coffee.

Now imagine that for every cup of coffee sold a child was given clean drinking water from its own well. It costs just 1cent per person per day to do this. Any coffee shop could afford to contribute this amount from the sale of a cup of coffee. Instead of clean water a coffee shop could contribute for the education of coffee farmers’ children, costing from 23cents per child per day. The options and stories are unlimited as well as the potential difference that Buy One Give One transactional giving can make to the lives of many.

Transactional giving is the story of the thousand-mile journey starting with that first single step. Digging a well costs a few thousand dollars so it’s a big barrier for communities in developing nations. However if you break the cost down it only takes the sale of a cup of coffee to give clean water to a single person for a day1. This is the power of transactional giving. It is like the compound interest of giving – a little turns into a lot very quickly.

Of course any company can do transaction-based giving with any of its products or services and do it on their own as some are like TESCO in the UK giving school uniforms to kids in Africa in partnership with Save the Children. And yet if companies choose to join together under a commonly recognised banner/brand they can have a powerful effect. The ripple that a single company creates is added to that of another and the ripple grows into a tidal wave of giving. This is the power of giving and doing things together.

The final power of Buy One Give One transaction based giving is that everyone wins – the consumer wins – at no extra cost to themselves they have made a difference through their purchasing choices – the business wins in so many ways – and the worthy cause or charity wins because they can now receive small amounts from many sources all aggregated and paid as a lump sum from a single source if done through the Buy1GIVE1 service.

A new start – a new world – new thinking

If you check Wikipedia today you should find that a new definition has been added for BOGO. It is time for a change. A change from focusing on GETTING to focusing on GIVING. The subtlety in the words that we use so often point to a deeper underlying meaning. I added this small addition to Wikipedia, “… an acronym in the marketing industry that stands for Buy One GIVE One.”

Imagine a world where every time you buy you are giving a gift forward to someone in greater need than you. This is the magic of transactional giving – seamless and simple.

This is the world I want to be part of.

Just remember – you don’t ‘get’ giving till you get giving.

Foreclosure Issues In The Boise Idaho Real Estate Market

Foreclosures are a part of every market these days, but 2009 ravaged the Boise Idaho real estate market so savagely that just fewer than 1 in 20 homes were foreclosed upon. With 2008 being such a bloodletting, you would think that a 103% increase in foreclosures in 2009 would cause the governor to request national disaster status. Finding your city among the top 24 most troubled real estate markets in the nation has too many homeowners reviewing the limited options that are out there. Given that the unemployment rate in the area is a stable 10.1%, and there is no scheduled business moving in, it may need a while to change this economy around.

There have been numerous contributing factors to Boise Idaho real estate, in this equation. Since 1980, it has experienced a population boom which has doubled its numbers, and business has grown into previously dark, unchartered corners. Tech industries have come into the mixture, and Micron Technology is now the city’s largest employer.

Most burgeoning cities experience a certain amount of trauma and the Boise Idaho real estate market had its share. Over the course of the boom period, home prices skyrocketed by about 80%, according to a major housing index. Pricing decreases of upwards to 35% have since plagued the market.

Christine Loucks, an economics professor for BSU, attributes the foreclosure run-up in town to two main sources: A small speculative bubble in the Boise Idaho real estate industry that has burst and the fiscal slowdown. Whenever there is a quick population increase, there is frequently real estate speculation due to the increased demand for housing.

When prices started to slow down, the speculators pulled out, sending prices down further and entangling some buyers underwater. A lot of these speculators ended up losing their homes and assets. Unemployment rates increased as many were laid off. Area employers started to eliminate many positions, with Micron laying off around 2000 and HP cutting several hundred jobs, the Boise Idaho real estate market began to suffer.

According to one local economist, local home construction has nearly completely halted. Despite suffering through much less damaging crises than other areas of the west, the Boise Idaho real estate market has had its share of pain, but will rebound in the near future.

Guitar Lessons DVD: Private Lessons At Home

Educate yourself! No matter what level you are at today, you can be and should be learning more. If you are currently studying with a teacher or enrolled in a music program at a high school, college or university, you are on the right track. If you aren’t doing this (or if you feel that your current teacher is not helping you enough in reaching your goals) I strongly recommend looking for a new teacher.

I wanted to write great music. Watching the movie Star Wars when I was a kid, reading Lord of the Rings, etc. inspired me as well. There are lots of non musical things that have been inspiring to me.

These are questions you should ask yourself. The two biggest practicing mistakes I have seen in students (besides not practicing enough) are: 1. Practicing is not goal orientated. 2. Not understanding the difference between playing one’s guitar and practicing one’s guitar. If you are having any difficulties with practicing, talk to your teacher about it. He/she should be able to help you.

If self expression is the pinnacle of art (or if you at least agree it is very important) and if you desire (and attempt) to express yourself in art (music), you are an artist. In the past, I would not have used the label “Artist” to describe anyone that was not already great at creating genuine art. I typically reserved the words, art, artist and musician for only the highest levels of excellence. But as a teacher of music composition, songwriting, and self expression I have changed my use of these terms for the benefit of all students.

You need to be totally self reliant. If this is not a normal part of your personality, fortunately there is help for you. Only you can stop yourself from procrastinating. Take the initiative now to go forward.

I remember when I first learned them. It was the “tough” school, the school of hard knocks. The school of “here is where to put your fingers, I know it feels impossible, you’re not getting most of the notes out, but if you stay with it long enough, you’ll be able to do it.”

In fact, it makes learning things like bar chords an orderly, if still somewhat demanding process. And the result is a very comfortable feeling while doing them, and the proper basis for more advanced techniques, such as keeping a bar down while the other fingers do all sorts of things that demand great control.

For instance, the process may go like this: I notice I have trouble with a fast scale passage in a piece I am playing. I notice a particular note starts disappearing when I reach a certain speed. The note is being missed. I notice the finger responsible for playing that note is the third finger. It is not getting to the note because it is going up in the air in reaction to the second finger being used right before it in that particular scale passage. In other words, it is tensing in reaction to the movement of it’s neighboring finger, and I have not been paying attention to it. I realize this is a bad habit that pervades my playing, a third finger that tenses up in reaction to the use of the second finger.

Finally! The whole unbiased truth about acoustic guitar lesson exposed. You owe it to yourself to visit guitar for dummies dvdand get the facts today.

Clean Up Before Studying

You already own the greatest reading acceleration device that has ever been developed. It is simply your hand that will help you read faster. People have spent thousands of dollars attempting to increase their reading speed. But no inventions or machines can do what your hand and your pacing finger can do for you to improve your reading speed — once youve been trained in our 4 special techniques.

What do your eyes do while you are “trying” to read? If you’re like most people, your eyes are jerking around, looking, searching, and bouncing here and there. Then they will fixate for a second or two and maybe move on again causing your brain to wonder what you’re doing. Sound familiar? Untrained readers go through this often.

Untrained readers experience this al lot. By learning speed reading, which includes the speed-pacing movement, you’ll learn how to control and then accelerate your coordination related to reading. A pacing technique, from the Evelyn Wood collection, is taught in Speed Reading in Only One Hour – and it’s going to increase your reading speed 50% in less than 10 minutes.

Aim for the best results for the type of reading material you read, but creating the best person environments: arrange your study area: textbooks, research material, and even a hi-lighter. Remove or unplug: magazines, unless study material, stereo, radio- just turn them off. If you wise, you’ll have an ipod with studio music without works, nature sounds or the like. Pachelbel Canon in D minor is one of the best. Get privacy, no brothers, sisters, friends, etc. And also remove you mate, spouse, lovers – they can easily distract you. Food can break your focus and reading patterns. Alcohol and drugs – don’t even go there, being stoned and studying is a sure fire failure. Cigarettes fog your thinking. Nicotine is a drug. Marijuana, cocaine, speed – don’t got there because your foggy brain is useless during an exam. Set your voice mail. Set the mood with relaxing baroque music, get your reading and studying materials together – and get ready for a study experience.

By organizing your study area, you’ve set the stage for a successful experience of study and learning. Using the tools that we’ll provide you, you’ll enjoy that you’ve found a great learning method to increase reading speed, comprehension, memory and recall.

Food For Your Body And Soul

As the age old adage says, health is wealth. Here we are speaking about soul’s wealth. Nutritious food is good for one’s health because body can absorb its essence – it is ditto with our life. When we espouse life in its entirety, enjoying all the impressions and sensations in it, our soul will be able to take in its ‘quintessence’, coming to terms with the core of our existence, and helping us to live our lives to the highest. Masami Sato shares the mystery of living a complete life in this excerpt from her latest book, ONE.

Why is it many of us (in fact, most of us) occasionally experience some kind of empty feeling in our life? It is like being hungry. When we eat, we feel satisfied and become less interested in food. But as some time passes, we get hungry again. Then all of a sudden we feel so attracted to the smell and thought of food. We can also feel some kind of hunger when we are not even physically hungry-just after eating something. Some of us stay being hungry all the time.

Constant emotional hunger is not the most pleasant thing to have. Then, how can we live our lives to the fullest? How can we be more satisfied permanently?

Maybe the answer is straightforward: just live our lives fully. The word ‘full’ holds the meaning of entirety. Then the secret to live a life in entirety is only to live it fully.

Let us begin by looking at an example of this ‘completion’ with something very close to our mind – our stomach.

Whole Food VS Semi Food

We are familiar with the word ‘whole food.’ It is said that consuming whole food is the secret to the health and fitness we need. What has whole food got more than ‘part food?’

A full grain throbs with a life of its own. If you put the full grain in water, drain the next day and keep for a few days, it shoots. It has its own life. When we dine on such food, our body takes in the entire live nutrients. It has all the qualities required to purify, remedy and foster different body cells.

As in the example of a grain, most conventional dining includes having whole creatures as well. Having entire fresh fish used to be more popular than taking a portion of fish and throwing the balance away. It was ditto for poultry and also for vegetables.

‘Half food’ sometimes has more sweetness and flavour but not much other nutrition. We like its taste, but we could develop a long-term illness if we only ate ‘half food’ every day of our life.

So, to balance the missing part, we started to take dietary supplements. We have been studying and researching for a long time to find the perfect balance. It gets more and more complicated as we chop the food up, preserve and transport, and even try to balance with other parts coming from different sources, regions and seasons. Some of the nutrients even come from non-food items. They are chemically generated. After analysis and testing, we approve it for human consumption. But no matter how hard we try; we cannot put all the ‘bits’ together to make it come alive.

Part Life-’Sweetness’ of Life

So, if we looked at our life now, part of what we are doing can be like eating the ‘half food’. Just savouring the sweetness of life but throwing away the real nourishing part. And if we soaked our ‘half life’ in water with other bits and left it in the sunlight, could it shoot and grow into a beautiful whole life?

Whole food is not (as some people seem to believe) of a bland taste. In fact it tastes better if cooked properly. But as requirement is low, it is more costly. It is in reality more cost-effective in the long term though, as we will have to pay less as medical costs later on. When more people will start having it, it would automatically become less expensive as it is a simple food with less processing cost and waste.

Our life is very similar. When we only value the ‘sugariness’, and cast out the rest as litter because we don’t perceive its value, we may be throwing out the most important portion. And what we jettison could have the biggest power for the endorsement of our life and our financial health. It also takes more strength and resources to cast it out. Better still, that which is thrown away comes free.

So, what is that we are not looking at?

Imagine a life where we didn’t really feel we were missing anything there.

The secret is right here. The secret of a complete life.

Whole Life-The Complete Life

When it is ‘entire’, it does not matter how large the entire is. It can swell concurrently. It can still hold within it all the parts to support itself as a full living being. Once it matures into a specific size, it can manage to live even without some of its components. Like plants can survive even after being consumed a bit by birds or trees can flourish even after they lose their leaves. But if we disregard the proportion for a very long time, ultimately it can begin creating a critical inequity. Then it could become too problematical to come back to normality.

We do not have to revert to Stone Age to find entirety. Entirety exists in the current. All we should do is watch intimately; watch intimately enough to actually see.

When we begin seeing our life in its fullness and stop casting out what nurtures our life the most, we start experiencing more and more satisfaction without looking for ‘things’ to fill the gaps and hollows of our life. Things finally fit into place. We now grasp the intricacies of our world in a completely different manner.

Yes, it is now time to discover how we can fashion (and perceive) this equation consistently and affordably.

The actual enriching part of our life is what makes us feel fine deep inside. It is like that portion of food that makes us hale and hearty in the final tally. Sensations we experience in our daily life are the real answer to our lasting joy. And there are sensations that make us feel more full.

The smiling visages we see when we acknowledge the merit of others. The happiness we feel when we give others gifts. The tenderness we feel when we see our children being happy. The motivation we get when we sense that our life is full of substance ..

Let’s experience these moments of our life fully and enjoy the flavour of our whole life. Then we will see how it is not so necessary to continuously fill our mind (and stomach!) with temporal gratifications-those types of things that make us even hungrier afterwards.

We can actually feel this joy, gratitude and love in order to experience the life as a whole at any moment regardless of the situations. It is not about what we see, what we hear or what we do that complete our life as a whole. It is about what we ‘choose to’ feel about our life.

Yes, our life in fact is already whole.

When we start taking actions based on this understanding, we can become true masters of the balance creation-long-term health, wealth, nurturing relationship and happiness.

Part One of Three

This collection of beautiful quotes that will inspire you to awaken your curiosity about the mystery of life is excerpted from “ONE”, a book by Masami Sato, the founder of Buy1GIVE which is a global giving organisation sharing the joy of giving. The quotes in this first edition include topics that are profoundly related to our everyday lives, such as mystery, judgment and connection. This article is the first part of the 3 “ONE Book Life-Changing Quotes Series”.

On transforming judgment

“Judgment often has very little relation to reality.”

“Actions and words don’t always accurately reflect who we are. Every single one of us has had the experience of wanting to undo what we did or said.”

On the mystery of life

“It’s very, very clear that we don’t need to know all of the ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ of life to keep living on this planet.”

“There are so many things we don’t understand in life. In spite of that lack of understanding though, we often enjoy experiencing those things.”

“Seeing is important but trying to figure out everything isn’t necessary.”

“The scientists are not here to reveal the ‘truth’ because we are here to seek it forever. They are actually here to complicate the game (of life) so that we can have more questions and enjoy the game longer.”

Connection

“Connection is the core of everything. That’s what life is. Connection.”

“Every single thing we do is to satisfy the need for connection.”

“We cannot feel unhappy when we are feeling totally connected. It’s impossible!”

“We are designed to constantly seek ways to connect to each other and to a greater purpose.”

“‘solutions’ coming from fear and doubt may not be the most effective ways. We end up feeling more and more disconnected from each other.”

“We can only truly celebrate the victory with others when we win together. Then we feel connected.”

“This is the game called ONE. The aim of the game is to ‘connect’! We keep connecting until we all become ONE.

Microsoft MCSA-MCSE Training From Home In Detail

As you’re considering studying for the MCSE certificate, it’s likely you’ll come into one of two categories. You could be about to enter the computer sector, and you’ve found the industry has many opportunities for qualified people. Or you could be already a professional attempting to consolidate your skill-set with a qualification such as MCSE.

As you discover more about training colleges, don’t use any that short-change you by not upgrading their courses to the latest version from Microsoft. Overall, this will cost the student a great deal more due to the fact that they’ve been educated in an out-of-date syllabus which will have to be revised very quickly.

Avoid making a hasty decision when buying a course before having all your questions answered. Take time to discover a training provider who will ensure you are on an appropriate training track for you.

Student support is absolutely essential – find a program that provides 24×7 direct access, as not obtaining this level of support will severely impede your ability to learn.

Find a good quality service where you can access help at any time you choose (even 1am on Sunday morning!) Make sure it’s always 24×7 direct access to mentors and instructors, and not a message system as this will slow you down – parked in a queue of others waiting to be called back at a convenient time for them.

Keep looking and you’ll come across professional training packages that give students direct-access support at all times – no matter what time of day it is.

If you fail to get yourself online 24×7 support, you’ll very quickly realise that you’ve made a mistake. It may be that you don’t use it late in the night, but what about weekends, late evenings or early mornings.

We can guess that you’ve always enjoyed practical work – the ‘hands-on’ person. If you’re anything like us, the world of book-reading and classrooms is something you’ll force on yourself if you absolutely have to, but it doesn’t suit your way of doing things. Consider interactive, multimedia study if books just don’t do it for you.

Learning psychology studies show that memory is aided when all our senses are involved, and we take action to use what we’ve learned.

Courses are now available in disc format, where your computer becomes the centre of your learning. Utilising the latest video technology, you can sit back and watch the teachers showing you precisely how to do something, and then have a go at it yourself – in an interactive lab.

You must ensure that you see some example materials from the company you’re considering. It’s essential they incorporate instructor-led video demonstrations with virtual practice-lab’s.

It doesn’t make sense to go for purely on-line training. Because of the variable quality and reliability of the ISP (internet service provider) market, ensure that you have access to CD or DVD ROM based materials.

A proficient and specialised advisor (as opposed to a salesman) will cover in some detail your current level of ability and experience. This is useful for working out your starting point for training.

Occasionally, the starting point of study for someone with experience will be massively dissimilar to the student with none.

If you’re a new trainee starting IT studies and exams from scratch, it can be useful to ease in gradually, beginning with some basic PC skills training first. This can be built into most accreditation programs.

A ridiculously large number of organisations only concern themselves with gaining a certificate, and avoid focusing on why you’re doing this – getting yourself a new job or career. Always start with the end goal – don’t make the journey more important than where you want to get to.

It’s a sad fact, but a great many students commence training that sounds spectacular from the sales literature, but which provides the end-result of a job that is of no interest. Talk to many college leavers to see what we mean.

You’ll want to understand the expectations of your industry. What particular exams they’ll want you to gain and how to gain experience. It’s definitely worth spending time assessing how far you’d like to progress your career as it will present a very specific set of accreditations.

Talk to an experienced industry professional who has a background in the industry you’re considering, and who’ll explain to you a detailed run-down of what to expect in that role. Getting to the bottom of all this before commencement of any training path will prevent a lot of wasted time and effort.

CompTIA IT Courses In Your Own Home Explained

Without a continuous flood of knowledgeable network and PC support personnel, commercial enterprise throughout the country (along with most other places) could well be brought to its knees. We have a constantly increasing demand for people to support both the systems and the users themselves. As our society becomes growingly beholden to computers and networks, we simultaneously inevitably become increasingly more reliant upon the well trained IT professionals, who ensure the systems function properly.

One interesting way that colleges make more money is via an ‘exam inclusive’ package and offering an exam guarantee. It looks like a good deal, until you think it through:

Everyone knows they’re still being charged for it – it’s quite obvious to see that it’s already in the overall price charged by the training provider. It’s absolutely not free – don’t think these companies are so generous with their money!

The fact is that if students pay for their own exams, one at a time, there’s a much better chance they’ll pass every time – since they’ll be conscious of their investment in themselves and therefore will put more effort into their preparation.

Don’t you think it’s more sensible to find the best exam deal or offer when you’re ready, instead of paying a premium to a training course provider, and also to sit exams more locally – instead of miles away at the college’s beck and call?

Including money in your training package for examination fees (and if you’re financing your study there’ll be interest on that) is insane. Why fill a company’s coffers with your money simply to help their cash-flow! Some will be pinning their hopes on the fact that you won’t get round to taking them – but they won’t refund the cash.

It’s worth noting, in the majority of cases of ‘exam guarantees’ – you are not in control of when you can re-take the exam. Subsequent exam attempts are only authorised at the company’s say so.

Splashing out often many hundreds of pounds extra on an ‘Exam Guarantee’ is remiss – when hard work, commitment and the right preparation via exam simulations is what will really see you through.

A so-called advisor who doesn’t question you thoroughly – it’s likely they’re actually nothing more than a salesman. If they’re pushing towards a particular product before getting to know your background and current experience level, then you know it’s true.

Don’t forget, if you’ve had any relevant accreditation or direct-experience, then you may be able to commence studying further along than a trainee with no history to speak of.

It’s usual to start with some basic user skills first. Starting there can make the transition to higher-level learning a a little easier.

Coming across job security in this economic down-turn is very rare. Businesses frequently remove us out of the workplace at the drop of a hat – as and when it suits them.

We can however hit upon market-level security, by searching for areas in high demand, together with a lack of qualified workers.

The 2006 national e-Skills study demonstrated that 26 percent of computing and IT jobs remain unfilled because of a huge deficit of appropriately certified professionals. Meaning that for every 4 jobs that exist throughout the computer industry, there are barely three qualified workers to fulfil that role.

This disturbing concept underpins an urgent requirement for more appropriately qualified computing professionals across the country.

Without a doubt, this really is such a perfect time for retraining into the IT industry.

Be careful that the exams you’re working towards will be recognised by employers and are up-to-date. The ‘in-house’ certifications provided by many companies are not normally useful in gaining employment.

Unless your qualification is issued by a major player like Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or Adobe, then chances are it won’t be commercially viable – because no-one will recognise it.

How A White Board Display Can Aid Presentations

Educational materials like dry-erase board, dry-wipe board, marker board as well as pen-board are called white board. These materials have a well polished surface called color white. With the use of these boards you can make non-permanent markings. In the middle of 1980s, it became popular and even today, it is still being highly regarded as one of the most useful tools in offices, restaurants, meeting rooms and other spaces. The term whiteboard is figuratively based on a character of computer software applications which opt to produce whiteboards. Whiteboards are used to make writings and also drawings on a temporary canvas.

White board materials are very functional for counter tops. It is collision and impact resistant, it is for this reason it is very durable. It composed of a fine material that can be cleaned without any hassle. The substances are basically easy to clean from its surface. When the color fades and obsolete you can use a swift wipe down from straight household bleach it will surely bring back its brand-new look.

The invention of whiteboards is from chalkboards. The original whiteboards was set up in the open market in the middle 1960s.The reason why there are many people who patronize whiteboards is that blackboards are dangerous to health because of the chalk dust. At first, whiteboards were perceived as a very pricey that being finished from a melamine surface. It was highly regarded as a good substitute for chalkboard and later it become better boards because it can be easily to keep and clean.

During the mid 1960′s, whiteboards are already out in the market and in today’s generation whiteboards is the modern times of chalkboards. The essence of using whiteboards is that, it does protect your health during meeting hours unlike blackboards that endangers the user’s health. The difference of using both boards is that a chalkboard uses chalk to write in the board or draw and these produces chalk dust which is harmful to everyone’s health .But whiteboards were found to be very costly in that time and were being made from a melamine surface. Later then, it was quite a hassle keep it clean.

Conversations are easily carried while using a whiteboard. Annoying sound of chalk is eliminated like in black boards. Dry erase markers can be easily used to write with one hand while discussing.

The productions of whiteboards require less time and effort since it uses common materials compared to chalkboard production. When you employ a whiteboard you can save on paper which is a great help in environmental preservation, though whether or not dry erase markers are totally harmless for the environment.

You can enjoy the use of a number of colors by using different markers. However, one needs to be extra careful and make sure they are using real whiteboard markers. Many a whiteboard marker has been ruined by accidentally being written on with a marker that was not really for white board surfaces. The use of the wrong marker will result in markings that might be almost impossible to delete. Backgrounds that are white are found to create a certain contrast helpful in improving reading for those who are suffering from vision impairment.

Now, whiteboards can be get in multiple sizes and can be found to a lot of frames variety including oak, aluminum and also plastic. Regular maintenance of your whiteboard necessary to avoid rugged surface and dirt build up. In general, you can install the hardware to have an accessory tray for holding markers and white board erasers.

Learn how a white board can assist to show workflow or improve demonstrations. Using whiteboard displays puts you in charge and are fundamental presentation tools.

Thoughts on Comptia Network Plus Training Uncovered

PC and network support technicians are increasingly in demand in this country, as companies have come to depend on their technical advice and skills. The world’s requirement for the above mentioned people is constantly growing, as commercial enterprise becomes more and more technologically advanced.

It’s likely that you’re a practical sort of person – a ‘hands-on’ individual. Usually, the trial of reading reference books and manuals is something you’ll make yourself do if you have to, but you really wouldn’t enjoy it. You should use video and multimedia based materials if you’d really rather not use books.

Many years of research has time and time again confirmed that becoming involved with our studies, to utilise all our senses, is far more likely to produce long-lasting memories.

Study programs now come in disc format, where your computer becomes the centre of your learning. Video streaming means you can watch instructors demonstrating how something is done, and then have a go at it yourself – via the interactive virtual lab’s.

It would be silly not to view some of the typical study materials provided before you sign on the dotted line. You should expect videoed instructor demonstrations and interactive modules with audio-visual elements.

Select physical media such as CD or DVD ROM’s whenever you can. This then avoids all the potential pitfalls with the variability of broadband quality and service.

It’s usual for students to get confused with a single courseware aspect very rarely considered: The method used to ‘segment’ the courseware before being physically delivered to you.

Most companies will sell you some sort of program spread over 1-3 years, and send out each piece as you finish each section. If you think this sound logical, then consider this:

What if you find the order pushed by the company’s salespeople doesn’t suit all of us. What if you find it hard to complete every element inside of their particular timetable?

To avoid any potential future issues, it’s normal for most trainees to insist that all study materials are sent immediately, and not in a piecemeal fashion. It’s then your own choice at what speed and in which order you’d like to work.

When did you last consider your job security? Normally, this isn’t an issue until we experience a knock-back. Unfortunately, the lesson often learned too late is that job security doesn’t really exist anymore, for most of us.

We’re able though to locate security at market-level, by looking for areas in high demand, coupled with a shortage of skilled staff.

Recently, a UK e-Skills investigation highlighted that 26 percent of all available IT positions remain unfilled because of a lack of well-trained staff. Put simply, we only have the national capacity to fill 3 out of each 4 job positions in Information Technology (IT).

Achieving the appropriate commercial computing certification is consequently a quick route to achieve a long-term as well as gratifying line of work.

No better time or market circumstances could exist for gaining qualification for this hugely expanding and blossoming business.

A question; why ought we to be looking at commercial qualifications as opposed to more traditional academic qualifications taught at schools and Further Education colleges?

The IT sector now acknowledges that to cover the necessary commercial skill-sets, the right accreditation from the likes of Microsoft, CompTIA, CISCO and Adobe often is more effective in the commercial field – for considerably less.

Obviously, an appropriate degree of associated information needs to be taught, but precise specifics in the particular job function gives a commercially educated person a huge edge.

It’s a bit like the TV advert: ‘It does what it says on the label’. Employers simply need to know what areas need to be serviced, and then request applicants with the correct exam numbers. That way they can be sure they’re interviewing applicants who can do the job.
